Day 1
In Cuiabá we will welcome you at either the airport or hotel. We start a 100km drive towards the city of Pocomé, the gateway to Pantanal. When we drive out of Poconé we transition from a paved road to the Transpantaneira highway, a dirt road. As we drive on the Transpantaneira we can enjoy and spot a variety of wildlife near the road while during a 67km drive to Santa Tereza (Southwild lodge).
On the way from Poconé to Porto Jofre, we can spot Marsh deer, South American coati, anaconda, giant anteater, toco toucans, tapirs, armadillos, hyacinth macaws, crab-eating fox and more. We arrive at Porto Jofre in the late afternoon.We check-in, relax and in the late afternoon will go to the hide for the first time to photograph the Ocelot.
Day 2:
Before breakfast eplore around the lodge in search for wildlife and return for breakfast. After the breakfast we will explore by car on the Transpantaneira to look for wildlife such as; crab-eating fox, tapir, anteater and the variety of birdspecies. We will return back for lunch.
After lunch we go for a boat ride. It provides excellent chances to see black colored hawk catching fish, big caymans, kingfisher and there is a small chance to see a jaguar. Late in the afternoon we go to the Ocelot hide, settle down and wait if the ocelot will appear. We leave around 8 pm to the lodge to enjoy a nice diner.
Day 3:
Same as day 2.
Day 4:
After breakfast we check-out and start our way back towards Cuiaba. We normally arrive in Cuiaba around 12 am (lunch time). However if you have an early flight to catch, we can arrange for an early transport back to the airport.
Day 1: Travel to Santa Tereza (Southwild lodge)
Day 2: Game drive/ boat ride and ocelot photography
Day 3: Game drive/ boat ride and ocelot photography
Day 4: Travel back to Cuiaba
